C++ / UE4 Blueprints Programmer

Remote or onsite position in Sofia, Bulgaria

Proelium Studios is seeking a motivated programmer to join our development team.  We’re looking for an engineer with a strong foundation in UE4 who enjoys working on a diverse set of challenging problems. Proelium Studios is a highly collaborative and iterative environment. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to communicate easily and effectively with fellow coders, designers and artists.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop high-performance, robust, maintainable code
  • Design and implement modifications, reorganizations, extensions, and optimizations to existing code base
  • Work closely with designers and artists to implement their ideas, providing technical, creative, and scheduling feedback
  • Actively maintain skill-set and knowledge base by keeping track of the latest innovations from the industry
     
Required Skills and Experience:

  • Highly proficient in C++ programming language and UE4 Blueprints
  • Strong problem solving and debugging skills
  • Self-motivated and passionate about games
  • Good team communication skills, able to translate rough ideas into concrete implementations
  • 3+ years experience

3D/UE4 Generalist

Remote or onsite position in Sofia, Bulgaria

Proelium Studios is looking for a passionate 3D Generalist. This role involves creating, editing and managing 3D content and libraries. You are a person that loves getting their hands on as much as the project as possible while continuing to learn and grow from new experiences.

 Responsibilities: 

  • Prototype, iterate, and polish 3D assets in UE4 ranging from props, environments, armors and weapons.
  • Retopologize, UV, texture and create materials.
  • Collobrate with the Creative Director to implement 3d, animation or VFX content into the engine and organize content libraries.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Strong eye towards aesthetics, with an ability to work hand-in-hand with art teams. 
  • Excellent documentation, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to maintain focus and self-motivation towards the current project goals.
  • 3+ years of experience with Unreal Engine and 3D applications such as Maya, etc.

 Level / Environment Designer

Remote or onsite position in Sofia, Bulgaria

Proelium Studios is looking for a passionate level / environment designer. This role involves working with the Creative Director to pitch, build, polish, and ship levels using Unreal Engine 4. It involves close collaborative work with the Creative Director to ensure the level ships on time at a high standard of quality, while also being fun and memorable to players.

 Responsibilities: 

  • Develop single player levels based on existing game design documents, direction from project leadership, and collaboration with peers. This involves taking a design all the way from a paper design to a shipping product, iterating over time based on feedback, creative goals, and project deadlines.
  • Prototype, iterate, and polish moment-to-moment gameplay utilizing ready-made assets in UE4.
  • Maintaining folder organization and optimizing shader material uses of store bought asset packs.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Strong artistic vision and world building skills inside game engines.
  • Proven track record of building and shipping large level environments. Should include videos or screenshots of shipped levels, and any additional documentation showing design and iteration process.
  • Understanding of modern level design practices, including layout, pacing, technical implementation, and above all else creating fun experiences for players.
  • Strong eye towards aesthetics, with an ability to work hand-in-hand with art teams.
